 OCPRSA's 2023 PR Trends Luncheon Unveils Emerging Trends in PR and Communications

OCPRSA's 2023 PR Trends Luncheon brought together communications professionals from a variety of fields to usher in a new year of unparalleled public relations and communications programs. The event offered a valuable opportunity to meet the new 2023 OCPRSA board members, including 2023 OCPRSA President Elena Bosch, APR, and engage in meaningful discussions with peers.

Hosted by Reveille, Inc., the luncheon featured esteemed panelists trailblazing the boundaries of innovation in public relations, digital marketing, and corporate communications. 

The Panelists:

  • Matt Prince, Taco Bell: As the head of Taco Bell's marketing communications and PR team, Matt Prince leads communications strategy and earned media coverage for the company's major marketing campaigns, collaborations, and partnerships. With a diverse background, Matt's expertise spans social media engagement at the Walt Disney Co. and speech writing for Disneyland's President and over 70 executives. His accomplishments have earned him recognition in ADWEEK's 31 Young Influentials List and PR Week and OC Metro Magazine's 40 Under 40 lists.

  • Heather McLaughlin, PR Talent: Heather is the Managing Director of PR Talent, an international public relations recruiting firm. With an illustrious career as the head of corporate communications for global organizations like Experian and Apollo Education Group, she founded the firm Novel Public Relations. Her passion for nurturing top talent includes a focus on professional development and work-life balance.

  • Suzi Brown, Disneyland Resort: As the Vice President of Communications for Disneyland Resort, Suzi oversees internal, external, and executive communications. She works with resort leaders to develop communication strategies for engaging and informing the more than 34,000 Disneyland Resort cast members. Suzi's rich experience includes key communication roles at Anaheim Elementary School District, Carl's Jr. Restaurants, and the City of Anaheim.

  • Colleen Edwards, NextGen Healthcare: Colleen, the senior vice president of marketing for Nextgen Healthcare, has spearheaded a significant transformation of the marketing organization, driving record growth in the marketing pipeline and share of voice. With three decades of strategic B2B marketing experience, Colleen's leadership has been instrumental in the sector.

  • Moderator: Brenda Springer, APR, Reveille, Inc.: Brenda Springer's journey in communication leadership began with a passion for waking up brands, the media, and consumers. With 17 years of experience, it's no wonder she chose the name Reveille for her agency, reflecting her commitment to energizing and inspiring action.
