Mid-Year Message from OCPRSA President Elena Bosch

Hello OCPRSA Members,
As we reach the midpoint of the year, I'd love to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful moments we've shared together and fill you in on what's ahead at OCPRSA.
So far, 2023 has been a tremendous growth year - for me personally, professionally, and as your president. We started the year with a sold-out 2023 PR Trends Luncheon, and have since offered members a strong cadence of professional development and networking opportunities nearly every single month.
In case you missed it, we held a stellar Leveraging PR in Celebrity Endorsements & Influencer Marketing panel at Social in Costa Mesa in March. Then we carried the momentum with a content-rich program at the TGR Foundation headquarters in Anaheim with our PR For Good Nonprofit Panel.
We capped the spring season with a trip to the Angel Stadium, where we brought back our beloved Behind the Scenes of Sports PR, with a new twist and even more MVPs. In June, we hosted our first-ever, Headshots and Handshakes, benefitting our YoPro programs. And finally, we held our much-loved annual Media Mixer at the Honda Center with many prominent members of the media and the best of OCPRSA public relations professionals in attendance at the end of the month.
All these amazing networking opportunities are a testament to our board’s unwavering dedication and passion for the field of public relations. And there’s so much more to come as we near announcing the date and venue for our annual PROTOS gala, this year celebrating 60 years of OCPRSA.
But none of these engaging events would be possible if not for our members and board volunteers stepping up and lending their time and talent to propelling the public relations profession forward. And we need your help to make our chapter stronger than ever.
Soon, our chapter will also announce nominations for our 2024 OCPRSA Board of Directors are open. Next year, OCPRSA will be led by Meg Treat, APR, owner and principal of Treat Public Relations. If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, now is a great time to get to know Meg and set up a time with her to learn more about becoming a leader within our chapter.
Opportunities to get involved include assisting with our annual awards gala, supporting our professional program development, lending your expertise to our YoPro members and sharing your talent to move our DEI initiatives forward.
If you have any suggestions or ideas for future events or initiatives, please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us. Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of OCPRSA.
