Q: Laarni, please tell us about you! Your job, etc.?
A: My role (Manager, DEI, Programs and Outreach, THE BACHELOR Franchise, NZK Productions/Warner Horizon Unscripted Television) is new, a first for the studio and I'm excited to take all my years of industry experience and passion for representation in media to a major network television franchise, and continue to make an impact. Plus, I'm a hopeless romantic!
Q: What brought you to the OCPRSA?
A: I've been a member of PRSA and OCPRSA for 20 years, where I currently serve on the PRSA National Diversity & Inclusion Committee. My involvement with the organization began in college at Cal State Fullerton with PRSSA, where I was inspired to give back like the professionals who did with our student chapter when I was in school. I'm very proud to have led OCPRSA to back-to-back National Awards for Diversity and to be a past recipient of OCPRSA's "Distinguished Service Award" and the "Order of Orange."
Q: What’s your favorite piece of advice for PR professionals?
A: Never let a 'no' stop you -- only you can stop yourself. In this business you will hear a lot of 'no's' -- have the belief in yourself that you can do it because you can! When you do, be sure to bring others along for the ride -- by lifting others as you rise, you become part of the change.
