Meet Rebecca Hall, APR, whose role as the president and CEO of Idea Hall places her at the forefront of advising clients throughout the county on ways to make our community a better place. Rebecca’s article, “5 tips on becoming a company that champions goodness,” was recently featured on Forbes.com – please be sure to check out this must-read!Q: Please tell us about you! Your job, etc.?
As the president and CEO of Idea Hall, my job is to bring our people and clients together to create impactful ideas that positively change communities and industries. Also, I work on a lot of business development which I really enjoy as I get to know the most interesting people and help them reach and even stretch to accomplish great things. I learn a lot from these conversations and try to read and learn what our clients and industry relationships are reading and listening to as well. Also, I’m a wife and mother of a 5 year old girl who is my sunshine and challenges me and teaches me every day.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being an OCPRSA member?
I love PRSA because of the people! I have been inspired and have learned a lot from many people in this chapter and at a national level. This really started for me in the APR process and grew even more important as I founded Idea Hall. A special shout out to Chris Perez, partner at Westbound who even went so far as to lend me his accounting manager to help set up my QuickBooks when I was just getting started. Talk about a generous act of kindness and belief in helping out industry friends! Thank you again and again, Chris!
Q: What’s your favorite piece of advice for PR professionals?
Develop a growth mindset and continuously learn and grow. While many of the fundamentals of PR stay intact for many years, businesses and industries are changing rapidly as are communications tools and the ability to integrate with creative, paid media, social media, video and digital marketing. If you are in the habit of continuous growth and learning, you’ll be a highly sought after talent.
